The Fridge

So my friend and I were reminiscing the other day, and he facetiously mentions the times in high school when he would come over and see my good grades posted on the fridge, which never happened. My response? My mom never cared enough about the fridge to put things on it.

Gold! Right?

Anyhow, I'm thinking of doing a Fall TV season review (of the shows that I watched, new and old)
pretty soon.

Stay tuned.

For now...

So I've moved to LA and graduated college.

I'm currently looking for a job.

In the meantime, the guys over at LOST are doing a fan appreciation thing where they give out clues that lead to a limited edition poster which you can buy if you're quick enough. I got the fourth one. The one to the left. It has not yet been delivered to me. I hope it comes soon!

As for film making, I hope something comes my way soon. We'll see if I can somehow get myself a production job.

Of course I should continue writing ideas down, when Iain gets here we can start our mini production company.

Well, I guess it's back to reruns of NCIS and numerous video games until I become officially employed.

New ARG?

www.LostUniversity.com

We'll find out either this saturday or September 22nd, 2009!

Is this somehow hinting at the plot of the next season? September 22nd again?

And the bottom of each page is a silhouette of all of the first season characters...

I'm just sayin'.

Coming Soon! Everyone is Robots and Frenemies!

Yes! It's true, I'm going to compress both films and put them on here for all to see!!!

Coming soon.

-Adam

Stranger... Yeah!

Alright, so I'm very proud of my film, and here it is for you all to see. Unfortunately the quality is fucking awful, and you can't full screen it, so I advise against watching it, but I also don't advise against it. So watch at your own risk.

Enjoy.

Stranger - Part 3

Stranger - Part 2

Stranger - Part 1

Stranger

Alright, I've pretty much finished editing my latest film: Stranger, and i'm attempting to cut a very crappy quality version in half in order to get it on here, so I should have it up soon, hopefully!

Lost characters as Simpsons characters!

Here's a site I found off of Jorge Garcia's blog, It's this guy who takes TV or movie characters and actors and whatnot and makes them in to Simpsons characters! This week is Lost week, so I thought it was appropriate.

Xbox 360 Gold Box Day!

Not that this particularly pertains to films, but Amazon.com is having a 360 gold box day today. Here are my guesses for the day:

1. 6AM "No one fights alone." = Call of Duty... World at war?

2. 10AM "Tower, this is Ghost-Rider. Requesting a fly by." = I originally thought Ghost Rider, right? But there's no Ghost Rider for the 360, so I searched the phrase. Apparently it's from Top Gun, but there's no Top Gun for the xbox... is there? I thought there was a downloadable one... Maybe it was just for the IPhone. I'm stumped on this one. Wait, I've been informed, it's Tom Clancy's HAWX.

3. 12PM "Risk it all to go AWOL." = Seems to be a tag line for Battlefield: Bad Company.

4. 2PM "Taking you back to the 80's" = Seems like an 80's collection of something... Let's see. Namco Museum? It's an Xbox Live arcade title, but I don't think that stops Amazon.

5. 3PM "This warthog rush is 'limited' " = I'd imagine Halo Wars, and with the limited in quotes i'd say the Limited Edition? This might just be one I pick up...

6. 4PM "Give me some hi-hat" = I don't know, any one of the bajillion music games? The most recent rock band, I don't know.

7. 6PM "Shaken, not stirred." = This one seems pretty easy. 007: Quantum of Solace

Could be better, but then again this is one of the better lists. And Fallout 3 collectors edition is the deal of the day, so not bad.

Enjoy.

Let's talk about Terminator... For a second.

So I saw Terminator: Salvation a couple days ago, unfortunately I was really drunk and don't remember much of it, specifically the ending. I wish I hadn't been so drunk, but that's what Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale will do to you, it's 10% alcohol and chugging 3.5 of them in a half hour or so is a sure way to get you wasted.

But away from that.

Spoiler warning ahead.

Then I watched Terminator 1 on Netflix and realized something. There's a huge "chicken or egg" argument within the film. John Conner's dad is Kyle Reese, who is from the future, who is sent back to the 80's by John Conner to save Sarah Conner, his mother, from the Terminator. In doing so, they fall in love and Kyle impregnates Sarah, thus giving life to John Conner. But how could Kyle Reese ever have gone back in time without being sent by John Conner, and without Kyle Reese going back in time, John Conner would never have been concieved.

I came up with a solution, although Terminator: Salvation ruined the theory. But here it is:

Kyle Reese was always fighting for the resistance. Eventually Skynet would have sent a Terminator back to kill John Conner, right? At least we assume so. And maybe, fate brought Kyle Reese to be the one that goes back in time to stop the terminator, thus procreating and concieving John Conner the first time around, and this information would be told to John by his mother and so he would seek out Kyle Reese in the future to make sure that he goes back in time thus saving his own existence. Thus the time traveling cycle has been started. I know it's a mouthful, but bear with me.

Here's the problem:

Like I said, it's a classic chicken vs. egg argument. Which came first? Assuming my theory is correct, then Kyle Reese always came first. But the story goes that John Conner leads the resistance, and without him they would fall. After seeing Terminator: Salvation, James Cameron manages to fuck up the story even more. Kyle Reese is a resistance fighter like I said, but he is nowhere near John Conner, and it is only after hearing that Kyle Reese has become the primary target for termination by Skynet that he attempts to contact him through a seemingly worldwide message to all resistance members, with the specific intention of rallying Kyle Reese to San Francisco. Kyle hears the message and decides he has to go. Without hearing the message, it's arguable that he may never have wanted to go to San Francisco, and never would have met John Conner, who would never have existed if Kyle Reese had never had motive to go to San Francisco in the first place.

Was it an interesting twist for Kyle to be John's father? Sure. But it makes little sense when you think about. In fact, John's birth and very existence seems like much more of a confusing paradox than a simple plot element. And so I thought to myself, well, it's a paradox, but through last minute storytelling you could come up with some weird reason why it all makes sense.

And that's when I noticed something else. Towards the end of Salvation, John Conner leads the resistance to Skynet, where a huge battle ensues, and they destory a pretty good portion of it, without destroying all of it, obviously. Anyway it's ten years from then before Kyle Reese is sent back, before Skynet sends the Terminator back to kill Sarah Conner, and I assume that this specific attack on Skynet is what really prompted them to find the ability to send a Terminator back in time to kill Sarah Conner, and to also have Kyle Reese on their list as the number one priority for termination, because he goes back in time as well to protect Sarah. But Skynet isn't omniscient, it may be able to see the past and some present, but it definitely can't see the future. So the whole point of Kyle Reese going back in time is because Skynet wants to destroy Kyle and Sarah, and Kyle only goes back because John Conner specifically asks him too, but without John, Kyle would never have been saved when he was a prisoner in Skynet in the first place and probably would have just been killed! SO HOW DOES THE CYCLE EVER EVEN START!?

The only clear explanation I can figure out is that at some point in time John Conner just popped into existence because that's the way fate needed it to be. And that would just be stupid.

Alright, I'm done. Oh, well, also to add to this, as my friend Iain pointed out, why didn't they just send the Terminator to kill Sarah when she was a baby? She would have been a lot more vulnerable.

Keep in mind, I've thought of all of this without even having seen Terminator 2, so I'm sure i'll have even more that doesn't make sense after I see that. But I love the movies anyway, and I know Terminator: Salvation has been getting bad reviews, but from what I remember, I really enjoyed it.

It's a LOST Theory post!

So anyone who could care less, go ahead and ignore this. To anyone that likes Lost, here we go!

In the season 2 finale, Desmond turns the fail safe key inside the hatch and a white light appears.

In the season 5 finale, Juliet smashes the nuke inside the swan and it explodes, with a white light.

I feel like these might be caused from the same thing. If Jack and crew are variables, and they were never supposed to be in 1977, then the bomb would never have gone off, and the incident would have been solved some other way, presumably however it was solved originally. And then when Desmond turns the key in 2004, the bomb is what Dharma used as the fail safe, and that's what goes off. But then our crew did end up in 1977, and they did set off the bomb, so would this prevent Desmond from ever blowing up the hatch in 2004? Would there even be a hatch in 2004? Does Juliet travel back in time like Desmond did when he turned the key? So many questions, but what I'm getting at is after Des did turn the key, everything seemingly stayed the same on the island, no time changes or anything. What if that is very similar to what happens to our losties? Maybe Juliet travels back to be able to make the decision once again to get on the submarine and go to the island? Maybe the rest stay in 1977?

Who knows, I just wanted to put this out there and see what people might think, if anyone even sees this.

Let's all go the island, and get ourselves a treat.

Also a plug, because I am such a LOST fan.

Second drink... er, blog.

I've started a second blog with my friend Iain Graham. You may or may not find it utterly hilarious. Check it.

Enjoy.

A short, and rather ridiculous film by Iain Graham, plus my film on youtube

Check it out! "The Assassination of Rick Doogen by the Coward Joe Waltzkrief": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh4CHxJ1wrU&feature=related

Also, I'll get "Frenemies." up soon on this blog, but to view it now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2Qvy1BOZyE

Enjoy.

Coming soon...

I'm going to try and get "Frenemies." and "Everyone is Robots" up soon, even though in comparison to "Hope!" and the upcoming "Interviews With a Hypochondriac" (working title), they at least look and feel like shit.

Some pics from my most recent shoot!

So we covered him in blood and taped the half-stake prop to him, and then covered him in even more blood to cover up the tape... Unrealistic? Sure. Awesome? Absolutely.
